Abra John Matte, Jr. 10/10/1949 – 07/08/2019 Abra John Matte, Jr., 69, of Alexandria, passed away Monday, July 8, 2019 in Lake Charles. A visitation will be Thursday, July 11, from 4-8pm with his service starting at 7pm, with military honors, at Heritage Funeral Home. Rev. Ken Sifford will officiate. A private interment will be held at a later date at Consolata Cemetery. Abra is survived by two children, Michele Clack & Jerry of Moss Bluff, and Michael Matte of Alaska; three grandchildren, Tanner, Jonathon and Jaclynn Clack; two siblings, Wilfred Matte of Sulphur, and Bertha Maxey of Sulphur; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Abra Sr. & Marie Matte; daughter, Rachel Matte; and brother Davis Matte. Abra served in the United States Marine Corps and was a Vietnam Veteran. He enjoyed golfing, travelling and fishing. He worked for BJ Hughes Oil Company for many years, which allowed him to live in Scotland for 14 years. And he loved his grandchildren.
