Gerry leaves behind to cherish her memory her nephew, Matthew Hodges (Heather), her niece, Robbie Hodges Cash (Jon); great nieces, Jannie Hodges, Chelsey Hodges, Lyndsey Murray; great nephews, Brayden and Cameron Cash; great great nieces and nephew, Haley, Braelynn, Abigail, and Ian, a host of cousins in Lafayette, La., many amazing friends and caregivers; and a collection of approximately 1.5 million beanie babies.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Yvonne Dixon; sisters, Patricia “Patsy” Dixon Hodges and Verna Mae Dixon; aunt, Verna Guillory; uncle, Wesley David; and brother in law, Robert (Bob) Hodges.
Gerry built a long, successful career and many life-long friendships at South Central Bell in Lake Charles. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling, spending time with friends and family, and doting on her many fur babies through the years. Gerry loved Jesus, was an avid LSU and Saints fan, had a passion for photography, and never missed a crawfish boil! She also acquired multiple impressive collections along the way, ranging from coins to NASCAR.
Gerry was an incredibly fun and generous aunt, loyal friend, sweet neighbor, tenacious supervisor, impatient patient, loving daughter, and caring sister. We are so thankful for the impact she had on our lives and the place she will forever hold in our hearts, but her presence will be missed tremendously!
