Bonnie Blankenbaker Cole

Bonnie Cole, born in 1936 in DeQuincy,LA, left us on March 2, 2022 in Glendale AZ. There will be a
graveside service on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at 2:00pm at Creel Memorial Gardens at Camp Pearl. Pastors
Andy Thomas and Don Barrett will officiate. Music will be led by April Dunnehoo.
Those left to cherish her memories are her son Robert Neil Cole and wife Tammy; three grandchildren, Rion
Giovanni and wife Kimberly, Jace Cole and wife Jessica, and Whitley Kober and husband Joshua; seven great-
grandchildren, Tate, Mae, Tanner, Jaxson, Maren, Magdalyn and Jameson; nephews Walter E. Cole Jr (Deidra),
Gerald Leglue Jr (Katherine), and James Allen Leglue (Stacey); and nieces Brenda Ortis (Tommy), Jayne
Blackmon (Richard), Helene Bradshaw (Colton), Collene Van Mol (John), and JoLene Blankenbaker.
Bonnie is proceeded in death by her husband, Robert Allen Cole, father Gelva Chalmer "Fuzzy" Blankenbaker,
mother Helen Blankenbaker and brother Gayle Blankenbaker.
Bonnie graduated from DeQuincy High School in 1954. She graduated from Louisiana College with a BS
degree in Education. She attended Northern Arizona University and graduated with a Master's Degree in
Education. She started her teaching career at Reeves High School and moved to Phoenix, AZ, where she taught
business education. In 1984, Bonnie accepted a teaching position with the Department of Defense and taught
business education to military children and adults in various bases throughout Germany. Bonnie had a passion
for travel and while in Germany, she visited places such as The Holy Land, Russia, France, Great Britain, and
numerous other European countries.
Bonnie attended "Church at the Arrowhead" in Phoenix, AZ. She was instrumental in helping the development
of the church library and other administration needs. Bonnie was known around the church for her humor and
practical jokes she would pull on the pastor. Bonnie loved serving people and the Lord.
