Charles "Pete" Reeves, 86, of Moss Bluff, was called to his heavenly home on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease. His visitation will be Monday, January 19, from 5:00-7:00pm, with funeral services starting at 7:00, at First Apostolic Church. A graveside service will be Tuesday, January 20, at 10:00am at Creel Cemetery. Procession to the cemetery will leave Heritage Funeral Home on Tuesday at 9:15. Rev. Jon Hair will officiate.
Pete was born on December 9, 1939, to Howard David & Ruth Reeves. He was raised in Topsy. He was owner and operator of his own trucking business for many years until retirement. Pete served as a Sergeant in the United States Army for 9 years during the Vietnam War. His bravery and marksmanship did not go unnoticed. He received many distinguished awards, including a Sharpshooter badge. Pete was a faithful and loyal member of First Apostolic Church in Moss Bluff for 36 years. He loved his church and his pastor. He was dedicated to his church, and to the work of the Lord.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Quintin Reeves & Janice, Ronnie "Bo" Reeves & Yvonne, Connie Reeves & Corey, and George "Dink" Reeves & Deanna; step-children, Tammy Murillo & Patrick, and Dustin Fletcher & Mitzi; brothers Clifton Reeves and Mervin Reeves; grandchildren Blaine Barber, Megan Parker & Mike, Justin Reeves, Lauren Butler & Lee, Alyssa Rose & Brandon, Shelbie Thibodeaux & Cody, Nicole Barnes & Robert, Payden Reeves & Allie, Jayce Reeves, Gabrielle Simmons & Stefan, Alexandra Murillo, and Dakota Jarreau; nineteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard David & Ruth Mae Reeves; wife Marion Reeves; wife and mother of his children Shirley Ann Reeves; and siblings Ovie Reeves, Wayne Reeves, Joyce Cleary, and Marie Gill.
