Danny and Melanie were married as high school sweethearts in December of 1972. She was the love of his life, and he made sure she always knew it. Danny worked as a machinist at Olin, PPG, and Conoco/Phillips 66. He always loved being with family and friends. His passion was spending time at the deer camp, and hunting with "the guys". His pride and joy was his children and grandchildren. He was known as "Danny-Boy" to most, and enjoyed a good laugh. His faith was strong and he lived his life for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He left behind wonderful memories for friends and family to cherish. Some of those memories include family vacations, finding box turtles with his grandkids, the many deer camp trips with James, Butch J, Butch T, Jeff, Pierce, JD and his Goose, the many games, activities, and functions for JD, Celise, Pierce, and Emily, and the many holiday gatherings with family and friends. He was also blessed beyond measure with the additions to his family: his son-in-law James, daughter-in-law Ellen, grandson-in-law Jake, and granddaughter-in-law Alyssa. He had a wonderful life filled with blessings from God, and he lived life to the fullest.
Danny is survived by his wife of 53 years, Melanie Herrington of Moss Bluff; two children, Richard "Jody" Herrington & Ellen Thibodeaux of Sulphur, and Heather LaFleur & James of Ragley; four grandchildren, Joseph "JD" Herrington & Alyssa, Celise Bruce & Jake, Emily Stelly, and Pierce LaFleur; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Tammy Broussard; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Starling & Edna "Brownie" Herrington; and sister Valerie Lazares.
