Kim Carlisle Reeves, age 60, of Moss Bluff, passed from this life February 4, 2022 at home, surrounded by her
loving family. Born July 14, 1961, in Lake Charles, LA to Robbie and Trudy Carlisle, she was a devoted wife,
mother, and Nana.
At a young age, Kim accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. After graduating from Sam Houston High School
in 1978, she soon married the love of her life and started a family.
Kim's interests were widespread and her desire to try new things was great, whether it be scrapbooking,
learning to sew, or making up recipes in her kitchen. She once started a supper club with friends to enjoy meals
and fellowship together.
One of her most endearing characteristics was her passion for helping others in all capacities. She taught
Sunday School for many years and taught pre-school at First Baptist Christian Academy for over 10 years. She
was a member of First Baptist Church of Moss Bluff. Serving as the FRG Leader for the 3-156 Army National
Guard, Kim communicated with soldiers and their families during deployments and planned celebration events
for their return home that hundreds of people attended. As a result, she received several awards for volunteerism
and was named Volunteer of the Year.
Most of all, her family was her priority. Kim lived for the time spent with family and often hosted impromptu
gatherings on the back patio to share a meal, swim, and enjoy her grandchildren to the fullest.
Those left to cherish Kim's memory are her husband of forty-one years, Brian Reeves; two children, Shawnya
(Tommy) Fontenot of Moss Bluff and Tony (Whitney) Reeves of Westlake; five grandchildren, Peyton
Fontenot, Kylie Fontenot, Anna Claire Reeves, Keigan Josker, and Tripp Reeves; four siblings, Missie (Dave)
Nichols, Dena (Eddie) Fairchild, Lisa Carlisle, and Buster (Tara) Carlisle; sister-in-law Debbie (Leon) Fast;
father-in-law Charlie Reeves; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father Robbie Carlisle, and mother Trudy Carlisle.
The family will begin receiving friends at Heritage Funeral Home in Moss Bluff on Sunday, February 6, from
5-8pm, and Monday, February 7, from 12-1pm. Funeral services will be Monday at 1:00. Interment will follow
at New Ritchie Cemetery. Rev. Billy Saxby will officiate.
