Fanny Faye Long
01/07/1949 – 09/02/2020
Fanny Faye Long, 71, of Moss Bluff, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at her home. Her memorial
service will be Saturday, October 3, from 12-4pm at Heritage Funeral Home in Moss Bluff.
Fanny was born on January 7, 1949 and raised in Church Point, LA and then later moved to Lake Charles, LA.
She was a graduate of Marion High School, class of 1966. Later, she moved to Moss Bluff where she lived the
rest of her life here on Earth with her husband, Clayton Long. Their marriage would have made 49 years this
November. Fanny Long was a member of St. Theodore Catholic Church, and was well known by most of her
small town of Moss Bluff, and surrounding areas, mostly for her smile and laugh! You couldn't miss it for the
world! If you knew her, she was one of your greatest blessings. She was smiling no matter what life brought to
her. She spent a few days of the week at the Senior Center in Moss Bluff playing bingo and doing all the fun
crafts they offered! She had so many friends and loved everyone as family!
She spent the weekends at her mother's, a relationship she was blessed to have for such a long time, watching
"the stories" and having cookouts almost every weekend with her siblings, all of whom she was also blessed
with for the remainder of her life! If you needed one sibling, call the others and they'd know where each
were! One of her favorite names to be called, after Mom, was Maw. She was such a bright light in her
grandchildren's eyes! She spent many days with them on her chair arm watching cartoons and being the silliest
of all!
She is survived by her husband, Clayton Long; three children, Darin Long and wife Kayla, Cassie and husband
George Heath, Rusty Long and wife Adrienne; four grandchildren, Caleb and Gavin Heath and Emery and
Callen Long; one great-grandchild, Eli Heath; siblings, Jackie Bennett and partner Ernest, Jonelle and husband
Jerry Walsh, Debbie and husband Dan Russ, Gary Bellard and wife Debbie, Michelle and husband Charlie
Johnson; and many nieces and nephews whom she cherished dearly.
She is preceded in death by her mother Gertrude Cummings and father David Bellard.
John 14:1-3
"Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father's house has many
rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go
and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am."
There is no doubt in anyone's heart/mind that she is sitting in joy and peace with Our Father. If anyone was
worthy enough, it would be Fanny. She is wholeheartedly getting Heaven ready for our grand reunion.
Romans 6:4
"We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead by the
glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life."
She deserved to walk with ease, and when the Lord brought her home, she strolled in with the most perfect of
grace. She will be greatly missed.
