Florence Genevieve Powell 6/26/1934 – 7/23/2023 Florence Genevieve Powell, 89, of Moss Bluff, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2023 at her home. Her visitation will be Wednesday, July 26, from 4-8pm, and Thursday, July 27, from 9am until time of service, at Heritage Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday, July 27, at 11am at Heritage Funeral Home. Interment will be at Old Ritchie Cemetery. Rev. Bill Saxby will officiate. Genny was a retired bus driver for the Calcasieu Parish School Board, and was still remembered well by her "bus kids". She was also a charter member of First Baptist Church of Moss Bluff. Genny is survived by her husband of 73 years, Raymon Powell of Moss Bluff; three children, Jenny Lynn Robbins of Moss Bluff, Raymon Douglas Powell & wife Judy of Moss Bluff, and Charlotte Ann Robertson of Moss Bluff; four grandchildren, Layne Robbins & wife Melissa, Amanda Thompson & husband Micah, Christie Powell, and James Robertson & wife Crystal; four great-grandchildren, Taylor Robbins & fiancé Joel Ethridge, Bonni Williams, Bryce Robertson & fiancée BJ Fontenot, and Dakota Robertson; one great-great- granddaughter Alydia Rose Robertson; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, John & Azille Reeves; siblings, Velma, Henry, Buck, Ward, Saline, Melva, Mary Esther, Charlie, Leonard, and Erma; and son-in-law Allen Robertson.
