Geremy Reuben George, 45, of Nederland, TX, passed away unexpectedly on January 14, 2026, at his home, due to complications from heart disease. A memorial service will be held celebrating Geremy’s life on Sunday, February 22, at 2:30pm at First Baptist Church Gillis, at 678 Topsy Rd. Lake Charles, LA 70611.
Geremy was born April 15, 1980 to Gayle & Ellen George in Baytown, TX. He was a graduate of the Anahuac H.S. Class of 1998 and Lee College. Geremy co-founded Stargazer Comics and Collectibles in Tacoma, WA. For the last 5 years Geremy was the Technology Director for Deweyville, TX. ISD, and district employee of the year for 2025. Geremy was an artist, musician, programmer, entrepreneur, educator, and author who excelled in every aspect of his work. He was a deep thinker with a brilliant and multifaceted mind. He managed to somehow strike the impossible balance between “cool” and “nerd.” His fanatic interest in comics, games, movies, pop culture, and a variety of classic “nerd lore” pointed to a deep and profound love and appreciation of a good story. This passion culminated in his own art and philosophical inquiry.
Geremy was a kind, loyal and loving son, brother, uncle, & friend whose absence is felt deeply by the many that knew and loved him. His eyes were inviting. Those who knew him remember his contagious laugh that bubbled over until everyone in the room was laughing with him. His quick wit and open-hearted conversation were appreciated by many comic fans coming and going through his store, his family, friends, and coworkers. He was selfless. His nieces fondly remember their last conversation with him as he spent time encouraging them as fellow artists and creatives to continue to pursue their gifting. He often spent time talking about friends and coworkers, recalling details of others’ lives that others might have missed. He genuinely cared for those around him.
Those left to remember Geremy are his brother Glenn and sister-in-law Nicki, niece Abbie Maggio & husband Seth, nieces Elizabeth, Darbi, Natalie, nephew Nathan, and great-niece Aubrey. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gayle & Ellen George, and sister Glenda George.
