It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gregory Jude Fischer, 79 years of age, of Moss Bluff, LA, on Friday, October 2, 2026, at his home. He was a devoted husband to Erayna “Raye” Mathieu Fischer for 36 years. Together they built a beautiful life filled with love, family and many precious memories.
Born on March 13, 1947 in Jennings, LA, he was the son of Gilbert and Madeline Fischer. He was a talented musician with a passion for music, which started as a child. Music was a refuge and joy for him in so many ways. He often shared his musical talent with many throughout his life. His propensity to care for others began at the early age of 15 at St. Pats hospital and came full circle at 55 when he returned to work in the ER until his retirement after 13 years. His love for caring for others was also shown during the time as a chiropractor in his early years.
Those left to cherish his memory are his four children - Erich Fischer, Kim Broussard, Jessica Davidson (Bryan) and Daniel Fischer. His six grandchildren – Kaitlin Marshburn (Gabby), Jordan Broussard, Danielle Robinson (Micah), Cameron Broussard (Baileigh), Erayna “Faith” Roberts (fiance’ Cade Miller) and Brock Fischer. He was expecting his first great-grand daughter, Tully Robinson in November.
Greg is preceded in death by his wife, Erayna, his son-in-law, Lance Broussard and his parents.
His visitation will be Tuesday, October 6, from 10:00am until time of service at Heritage Funeral Home, with his funeral starting at 1:30pm. Interment will follow at Old Ritchie Cemetery in Moss Bluff. Thomas L. Bethke will officiate.
