Jackey White South May 24, 1954 – July 30, 2022 Jackey White South, 68, of Longville, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2022 in Lake Charles. Her memorial service will be Saturday, August 6, at 11:00am, with a time of visitation from 10am until time of service, at First Baptist Church of Longville. Rev. Corey Townsley will officiate. Jackey was a devoted wife, mom, granna, and friend, among many other titles. This devotion enabled her to maintain close relationships with a wide circle of family. She was proud of her family history. She could explain how everyone was connected and tell wonderful stories. She loved raising her boys with Robin - their house was always filled with sounds of lively family dinners and Astros games. Jackey obtained her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock School of Law in 1987. She practiced law tirelessly for over thirty years and earned distinctions, such as the 2014 Litigator Award and multiple pro bono awards. Jackey worked for many years at Lundy Lundy Soileau & South, LLP of Lake Charles and was an esteemed partner since 2008. She was known for her care and diligence amongst her colleagues and clients. Jackey had boundless determination: when she made up her mind about something, she wasted no time in making it happen. She volunteered for numerous organizations, including the Kiwanis Club of Lake Charles, to better the lives of people in her beloved community. She shared the love of Jesus at home and in countries around the world, such as Kenya and Brazil. She served the Lord proudly with her First Baptist Church of Longville family. Jackey's love and legacy will live on in the hearts of many. Jackey is survived by her husband of 22 years, Robin Semple of Longville; three sons, Tyler South & Kendra of Longville, Harrison South & Tabitha of Richardson, TX, and Scot Semple & Ali of Bryan, Texas; six grandchildren, Dixie, Kennedy, Audrey, Johanna, Maggie, and Baylor; six siblings, Pat Junkin & Dick of Mississippi, Tim White & Rachel of Oklahoma, Randy White & Robin of Arkansas, Rusty White & Julia of Arkansas, Glori McNeese & Robert of Mississippi, and Lauri McCullar of Mississippi; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Rodney & Dixie White. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the First Baptist Church Longville Building Fund.
