Jan Leger Horton

Jan Leger Horton, 61, of Mittie, passed away Friday, September 11, 2026 at her home.  Her visitation will be Sunday, September 13, from 4:00-8:00pm at Palestine Baptist Church in Grant.  Funeral services will be Monday, September 14, at 11:00am at Palestine Baptist Church.  Interment will be at Palestine Cemetery.  Revs. Hardy Estes and Greg Kyler will officiate. 

Jan was born on May 25, 1965, in Nederland, TX, to Joseph & Yvonne Leger.  She spent a lifetime loving Jesus, her family, her friends, and the Houston Astros.  She is survived by, and will be deeply missed by, her husband of 42 years, Henry W. Horton of Mittie; two sons, Bryan W. Horton of Mittie and Eric J. Horton & wife Heather of Pitkin; five grandchildren, Caleb Jake, Kameryn Danielle, Jaxon Bryce, Jacen Blaine, and Grey Daniel; four siblings, Ronnie Lager of Spring, TX, Maria DuBose of Port Neches, TX, Leslie Leger of Nederland, TX, and Tina Kyler & husband Greg of Jasper, TX; her best friend Ann Rawlinson & husband Brent; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph & Yvonne Leger; sister Leatrice Rawlingson; and brother Michael N. Leger.
