Joseph Charles Carroll 12/23/1940 – 04/13/2020 Funeral services for Mr. J.C. Carroll, 79, of Ruston, Louisiana, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at First Baptist Ruston, with Rev. Al Gist and Dr. Chris Craig officiating. Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church. J.C. was born in Ada, Oklahoma on December 23, 1940 and passed away at Northern Louisiana Medical Center on April 13, 2020. J.C. built his career in commercial construction including owning his own business, The Caleb Company. He was very talented in woodworking and very much enjoyed his "shop" and often used his talents and tools to help others. J.C. particularly enjoyed entertaining family and friends, which always involved good food and usually a card or domino game. J.C. was devoted to his wife, Carnella, and throughout their 27- year marriage they enjoyed traveling, gardening and being involved in their church. J.C. was strong in his faith and his family takes comfort in knowing he is eternally healed and no longer suffering. His family will miss his boisterous laugh, his quick wit and his wonderful sense of humor. J.C. was preceded in death by his parents, Arlis and Vera Carroll and his daughter, Lacy Carroll. Survivors include his wife, Carnella (Gist) Carroll, his children, Lorrie (Glen) Chilcoat, Lindy Keeth, Lisa Carroll and Leigh Ann (Jerry) Sloan; his step-children, Jeff (Traci) Lilley and Kim (Glen) Wood, 12 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
