Julia Ann Fewell, 86, of Moss Bluff, passed away, surrounded by her family and loved ones, on Thursday, October 22, 2026 at her home, following a lengthy, courageous battle of cancer. She was born in Peru, Indiana on February 1, 1940, to Mary & Arlen Corley. Her Celebration of Life Service will be Friday, November 6, at 2:00pm, with a time of visitation from 11:00am until time of service, at Heritage Funeral Home.
Julia was known for her love of games, for being a fierce competitor, for dancing, musicals, crafts, travel, care-giving, and for spending time with her family. For the past ten years, she had been a very active member of the Moss Bluff Senior Center, and loved playing games there daily. She loved her friends and the wonderful ladies that run that facility.
Julia had a career in banking, and served as a Trust Officer with Lakeside Bank for many years. She served as president of many civic organizations, such as Southwest Kiwanis Club, SLIC, NABW, and many others.
Julia is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Jerry O. Fewell, her parents, and her beloved son Chris Fewell. Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Tawnya Sizelove & husband Butch, and Shawn Fewell & wife Pramila Gardner; her grandchildren, Chris Fewell & wife Natalie, Kyle Fewell, Taylor Harrell, Brandon Harrell, Sean Fewell & wife Trinitee, Alyssa Sizelove, Robby Gardner & wife Jessica, Brandon Patino, Tinsley Patino, and Justin Allen; her precious great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Fewell, Hayden Fewell, Loralei Fewell, Jack Gardner, and Rowan Gardner; and siblings Jim Pyka & wife Eileen, and Paul Pyka & wife Lynn. She also has a bonus daughter, Sherry Hitefield, and several bonus grandchildren, Amanda, Chadrick, Evan, Alicia, and Ariya.
The family would like to extend gratitude to all the wonderful members of the Moss Bluff Senior Center for the calls, cards, visits, and friendship they have shown. Thank you, Amanda, for the wonderful care you took of Julia. Thank you also to Harbor Hospice for your kindness and dedication, especially nurses Connie and Mel. We also sincerely appreciate all our wonderful friends and neighbors for their constant prayers and support.
