Susan Joy (Maddox) Farque
3/16/1944 – 2/11/2022
Susan Joy (Maddox) Farque, 77, of Moss Bluff, a true prayer warrior, gained her heavenly
wings on February 11, 2022.
Sue is the daughter to Joy & Edgar Maddox of Westlake, where she was raised. She married
her loving husband, Allen Farque in 1965. They later resided in Moss Bluff and raised their
four children. She was an amazing wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-
grandmother, and friend. No matter the day or night, you could always count on Sue to be there
for you. Her presence brought comfort and her beautiful smile could light up a room. Her
unwavering faith in her Heavenly Father is the foundation upon which she built her life. She
was a former president of Women's Aglow and The Lord's Host. She went on to become an
ordained minister, presiding over weddings, funerals and baptisms. Another great passion was
being a "birth doula" for friends and family. She was a great counselor for others during their
times of need and desperation.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband Allen Farque; four children: Reggie Farque
(Tammie), Shannon Farque, Heidi Watkins (Bruce) and Mandi Johnson (Taylor); three siblings:
Sandy Maddox, Steve Maddox (Janna), and Lea Davis (Ben); six beautiful grandchildren, five
amazing great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father, Edgar Maddox.
Sue's visitation will be Monday, February 14, from 12-2pm, with her funeral starting at 2pm, at
Heritage Funeral Home. Interment will be at New Ritchie Cemetery. Rev. Tim Nicholas will
officiate.
