Velda May Lopez 11/29/1932 – 5/15/2022 Velda was born in Evangeline, Louisiana and has been a resident of Sulphur and member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church for over 60 years. She is preceded in death by her husband of almost 70 years, L. G. Lopez. They are survived by seven children; Sue Crochet (husband, Wade), Gail Brown (husband, Don), Greg Lopez (wife, Allison), Alison Guidry (husband, Billy), Cathy Carrier (deceased husband, Danny), Rosalind Mercer (husband, Mike), Patrick Lopez and 38 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great, great grandchildren combined. Velda and her husband are also preceded in death by 3 grandchildren. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:30 AM on Friday, May 20th at St. Theodore Catholic Church. A rosary will begin at 11:30 AM and will be immediately followed by a Mass. Heritage Funeral Home will be handling cremation and a private burial ceremony will be held by immediate family at a later date.
