Vernon Paul Theriot 12/20/1942 – 4/10/2021 Vernon Paul Theriot, 78, left this Earth from the comfort of his home surrounded by loved ones on Saturday, April 10, 2021. He was born on December 20, 1942 to Herman & Nellie Theriot and was a 1960 graduate of Gillis High School. He also attended trade school and spent three years in the United States Army. Vernon was a Lake Charles policeman for five years and retired from Alcoa Aluminum after 34 years as a kiln operator. In 1966 he met and married his soulmate, Irene Ryan Theriot. In their 55 years of love and devotion, they were blessed with three children: Dr. M. Todd Theriot & wife Missy, William Allen Theriot & wife Kim, and Paula Gail Theriot; ten grandchildren, Hannah Gabrielle Theriot, Ashlyn Theriot Burton and husband Cullen, Natalie Catherine Theriot, Grace Anne Theriot, William Tyler Theriot, Alexis Ryan Theriot, Allyson Taylor Theriot, Dustin Glenn Duhon, Braden Joseph Duhon, and Hayden Paul Theriot; one great-grandson, William Michael Theriot; one "coming soon" great-granddaughter Sterling Ryan; brother-in-law Charlie Reeves, and sister-in- law Linda Theriot. Gone to Heaven before him are his parents, brothers Warren and Bobby, and sisters Wanda Reeves and Nina Mixon. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, April 17, starting at 1:30, with a rosary at 2:30, at Heritage Funeral Home on Parish Road in Moss Bluff. The family wishes to thank St. Patrick's Hospice for their loving care over the last five months. Marla, Chris, Candace, Ashley and Feliciana were so willing to make his passing as comfortable and painless as possible. We are sincerely grateful.
